S8TX-V2 Takes 1st & 3rd @ Rd2 UK Truggy Pro

S8TX-V2 Takes 1st & 3rd @ RD2 UK Truggy Pro. A brilliant days racing was had at the 2nd round of the UK Truggy Pro Series at Deerdale Off Road Club. The Astro surfaced track held up well to the Lightning storm and the deluge of rain that hit in the morning!  A super effort from all to clear the standing water, dig drains, and prep the track before racing started. 2 rounds of qualifying made things difficult for all drivers, coupled with the damp track conditions things looked interesting. LRP drivers Joe Joyce, Stan Gill, Steven Bond, Jordan Banks, Jack Laws all running the new S8TX V2 UK Team Edition Truggy were up for the challenge. The 2 qualifying rounds were over in a blink of any eye with many drivers having issues, Jordan Banks, Joe Joyce & Jack Laws had technical issues leaving them 1st, 2nd and 9th in the B final! Stan Gill had an excellent run in his 2nd round to qualify him 2nd overall, Steven Bond in 7th both in the A final. The B final was tuff with many good drivers going for the top 4 bump up places,  Jordan Banks had a good start with Joe following close behind with Jack battling in the mid field. Jordan dropped down the field with a steering issue & Joe took the lead and did not look back. Jack Laws placed himself into a bump position and finished 3rd with Jordan just missing out in 5th place. The A-Final got under way with 5 LRP trucks in the top 14! A frantic race took place with lots of drivers out of position, TQ driver Matt Lewis drove the field away on the first lap and looked good for the win but things would change! Joe Joyce had a storming drive from 11th to 2nd place chasing hard to catch Matt. Stan Gill dropped to 5th with a battle royal in the mid field, Steven Bond & Jack Laws keeping things steady in 8th & 11th place. The 35 min final proved hard for many with 3 drivers dropping out with technical issues, Matt, Joe & Michael were all out of the race for several laps. This left a fantastic race between Steven Bond, Stan Gill & Piers Pearson, positions changing every lap! With 2 min to go Steven Bond had a good lead of around 10 seconds over Stan & Piers. Piers put a good move on Stan to take 2nd and the battle was on! Cheers from the pit lane on every corner as Stan pushed hard, bad luck hit Piers with a lower arm breakage but instinct told him to carry on for 1 lap! Stan Gill saw the opportunity and pushed even harder only to be blocked off with some poor backmarker driving! This didn’t stop Stan and with just 5 corners to the line put in a mammoth effort to catch piers and so nearly did on the line! This is a Fantastic result for the UK LRP Team, 5 Trucks in the UK Truggy Pro A final, also finishing 1st Steven Bond & 3rd Stan Gil.  A mention must go to Jason Cook for an excellent performance in making the A final and finishing 6th overall. This is a great result guys well done.
